Every state has it's own laws on restricting auto window tinting the front windshield. They also have restrictions on tinting the front side windows. Delaware Auto Tint Laws:
No reflective or metallic tint on ANY windows
Non-reflective tint above the AS-1 line or 6" on the top of the windshield
Windows must show "after manufacture" sticker under DE approved tint
Back Side windows and rear windows can be any darkness
Rear window can be any darkness
Violating the tint laws is a civil traffic violation and can be fined depending on the first offense or repeat offenders
Some exemptions are for auto front side windows only:
Medical exemption, such as lupus or other medical conditions
Vision related issues with the need to limit sunlight
